The “Vel” (வேல் in Tamil) is a divine spear or javelin associated primarily with Lord Murugan (also known as Kartikeya, Skanda, Subramanian, or Shanmukha), the Hindu god of war, victory, and wisdom, especially revered in Tamil Nadu, India, and among Tamil communities worldwide.
